MPLS Label Distribution and Signalling Protocol

This course discusses the operation of MPLS networks in greater technical detail than the first course in the MPLS course set, MPLS Networking. It describes the operation of and issues involved with Label Distribution Protocol. It discusses the operation of and structures involved in TCP session establishment. It continues with the features of constraint-based routing, the structure and operation of the Resource Reservation Protocol (RSVP), the methodology of Border Gateway Protocol 4 (BGP4) label distribution, and the format and operation of the Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP).

Prerequisites

MPLS Networking

Global Objectives

Upon completion of this course, the learner will be able to describe the operation and structure of the MPLS label distribution and signalling protocols.

Target Audience

This course is intended for network professionals and managerial staff who are interested in learning more about MPLS technology, and in particular, the label distribution protocols.
