IP Routing
This course provides an overview of technologies used to route Internet protocol packets in a wide area network. It focuses on how data is transmitted through a network, using different link technologies. The course discusses encapsulation options. It describes Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) operation, terminology and concepts. The course goes on to introduce and explain the intermediate system-to-intermediate system (IS-IS) hierarchy, of which OSPF is a derivative. Next, the course discusses different border gateway protocols used to connect networks. Finally, it explains multicast routing and traffic control.
